七十一 [dream action]

At first, all you see is darkness, and the darkness is total. Not a thing discernible - except for sounds. Wet sounds, like water dripping somewhere far away, and sounds of breathing, not loud, but clearly audible. Rin, she tries to move in this darkness and kicks a few pebbles loose.

A feeling of danger reigns over the room - and it is somewhere inside something, judging by the sounds and the odd feeling of walls closing in on you.

Then, kaboom! Light literally explodes into the room, and in plain view to the front is a cavern tapering to a tunnel, and in that tunnel, doors start opening. One following swiftly after another, there are also creatures coming out from behind those doors. They look like large, humanoid otters, their faces a mere caricature of an animal.

They start moving, back to where Rin is standing.

[He balks at how the...things moving around in the tunnel. Typically what he expected of from explosions were a cave-in or heavily armed soldiers pouring into the room, not the sad looking excuses shambling around. Huey looks around and spots Rin ahead of him and he runs towards her.]

Any chance that this will end with them giving out ice cream?

[Yeah, definitely not good, is what he thinks to himself as he cracks his knuckles. Huey has a mild flashback to the situation he wound up in when he entered Lavi's dream the last time this particular curse appeared.]

Another dream with a combat sequence, just my luck.

[He tries to respond but doesn't get to as he barely dodges one of the members of the mob. Frowning he leaps up into to air and delivers a spinning hook kick to the person's temple. He lands after the body crumples to the ground and he charges after Rin, evading and lashing out with his own attacks at the mob.]

One of the creatures to come out of a door looks less otter-like and more humanoid despite his distaste for humans. But he is ghostly white. He also comes armed with his spear and sword. Nuada doesn't quite understand the meaning of the curse, however he knows a threat when he sees one. Yellow eyes focus on the girl beyond and he puts a quick tale together: kill or be killed.

He's standing across from her and there is definitely some sort of recognition on her face, though the dream has a firm grasp on her.

And yet, she doesn't know if he poses a threat, as well. Though there is certainly no lack of that. So she readies her sword, holds it up high, a look of deep concentration on her face.

"What are your intentions," he asks simply and plainly of Rin because there's one of her and many of them. She, however, is not one to underestimate, not with that particular expression. Nuada doesn't know Rin Asano very well at all but he understands the instinct, that look. Without making another move his spear extends to full length.

At his words, Rin blinks in surprise - she's evidently taken aback at one of her opponents talking to her, coherently and clearly. She lowers her sword slightly, though her expression regains some of its determination. Still, it is softer than before. "I have to go through there," is her simple answer.

"I have to leave here," is the reply he gives. Similar goals maybe, or rather similar destinations which is good enough for Nuada. "I don't expect to have to carry you out," remarks the elf prince, a little condescending perhaps, but it's his habit to be so until clearly proven otherwise. He entertains the idea of Rin doing such a thing.

"No", she says, "I have to get inside." Then she advances with hesitation, sword lowered, but still ready.

"Rin!" Youko doesn't know what is happening. The darkness is troublesome, because the hinman will knot see, but soon the light comes and she starts to lament she can see.

What are those?

Youko, too, is given the barest of notice. Rin is focused on what's in front of her. "We've got to get through them, somehow - by force, it looks like."

"Wait, Rin," Youko asks, frowning. Where are they? "Where is this?" Is she awake or is this a dream?

"They've all lost their minds! They've been experimented on and couldn't bear it", Rin answers, a visible shudder going over her, from the feet up to her face, which is slightly distorted in an expression full of pity.

"Experimented on?" Youko asked, eyes widen, feeling her stomach recoil in disgust. Those poor people. Were they beyond salvation?

"These are the experiments Kashin Koji has been talking about," Rin continues, her hands and the sword enclosed in them trembling slightly. She's taking a deep breath. This is not going to be easy.

You don't say. Youko didn't know the first thing about a Kashin Koji and what he said, but seeing Rin in that pose of combat made her be on her guard as well.
